Overview

The report presents VIA Rail’s first comprehensive CSR reporting initiative, organized around safety, environment, passengers and communities, and employees. It reports a 29.9% reduction in fuel consumption between 2009 and 2014, corresponding to a 26.6% reduction in GHG emissions per passenger-kilometre. It also reports 2,516 active employees at year end and describes workforce training and engagement initiatives.
