Overview

The report describes West Fraser's 2010 sustainability activities, including planting approximately 44 million trees and managing about 6.8 million hectares of Crown forestland. It reports that Canadian facilities reduced annual GHG emissions by more than 181,000 tonnes, or 32%, since 2000, while converting wood residuals into energy and reducing waste. The report also highlights SFI and ISO 14001 certification of directly managed woodlands and substantial community support. At year-end, West Fraser employed approximately 6,700 people, including joint-venture operations.
