Sustainability Report

The report presents 3M's 2016 sustainability performance across global operations, including 92,500 year-end employees and a purpose of improving every life. It reports 4,140,000 Metric Tons CO2e of Scope 1 emissions, 1,840,000 location-based Scope 2 and 9,130,000 upstream Scope 3, alongside a 2025 goal to cut GHG emissions at least 50% below 2002. It describes a stakeholder-driven materiality assessment, environmental, safety, human-rights and supply-chain programs, and alignment with GRI G4 and the UN Global Compact. Bureau Veritas independently assured the report's 2016 environmental, health and safety, energy, water, waste and workforce data.
