Sustainability Report

The report describes the company's response to a challenging Covid-19 year, including R58 million of support for host communities and SMMEs. It reports safety challenges, with three fatalities described in the narrative, alongside continued safety initiatives. Environmental performance included a 7.8% decrease in attributable Scope 1 and 2 emissions to 1.02 million equivalent tonnes of CO2 and a 5.7% reduction in electricity consumption to 1 563 GWh. ARM also reported improved water accounting and 72% water re-use efficiency.
