Responsible Business Report

Overview

The report describes Ameriprise's responsible-business approach across values, responsible investment, governance, environmental stewardship and community impact. In 2017, the Board amended its Nominating and Governance Committee Charter to oversee corporate social responsibility efforts, while women represented 33% of directors. For 2016, Ameriprise and its people contributed 181 grants, 8 million meals, $13 million and 81,000 volunteer hours. Environmental initiatives included LEED-certified buildings, energy-efficiency measures and disclosure of headquarters and client-service-center GHG emissions through CDP.
