Overview

The report presents Anglo American's 2011 sustainability performance across safety, climate, energy, water, social investment and workforce topics. It reports 17 work-related fatalities, Group Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions of 18.8 Mt CO2e, and energy consumption of 102.9 million GJ. Total water consumption was 131.6 million m3, with 66% of operational water requirements met through recycling or re-use. Selected sustainability KPIs were independently assured by PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc.
