Overview

The report presents AngloGold Ashanti's 2009 group-level sustainability performance across safety, resources, people and economic value. It reports 63,364 people in the workforce, including 49,908 employees and 13,456 contractors, and 16 occupational employee fatalities. Group energy usage was 30.09 million GJ and GHG emissions were 4,671.57 thousand tonnes CO2e. The review was externally assured by PricewaterhouseCoopers, with limited and reasonable assurance applied to selected subject matter.
