The report says two people died in work-related accidents in 2016, despite the Group’s stated zero-fatalities objective. It highlights an agreement approved by 83% of the Caimanes community, resolving long-running disputes around El Mauro and setting out additional water-availability and dam-safety works. The Group reported using 56 million m3 of water, while renewables supplied 42% of Los Pelambres’ energy requirement. Its mining division reported 2,796,004 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions in 2016.
