Environmental, Social and Governance Report

The report presents ArcelorMittal South Africa's 2022 ESG performance across seven priority areas and ten sustainable development outcomes. It reports two workplace fatalities, a 10 270 FTE workforce, 8.35 Mt of Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions, and 77 PJ of total energy consumption. The company highlights R338 million of environmental capex, a 25% CO2e intensity-reduction target by 2030 from a 2018 baseline, and a net-zero operations ambition for 2050. It also describes partnerships with Sasol, Eskom and Transnet and includes an EY limited assurance report over selected sustainability information.
