Overview

The report describes Arch's 2021 ESG integration across business, operations, investing, people, and communities, including a new review of sustainability priorities. It reports 2021 worldwide operational GHG emissions of 1,165 metric tonnes CO2e for Scope 1 and 5,001 metric tonnes CO2e for market-based Scope 2, alongside targets to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030 and reach net-zero operations by 2030. Arch also assigns ESG-program oversight to the Nominating and Governance Committee. Its 20th-anniversary Global Giveback involved over 800 volunteers, more than 5,000 hours, and an additional $1.4 million pledge.
