Overview

The report presents AT&T's 2009 citizenship and sustainability performance across six focus areas, combining U.S. operating data with newly added international GHG and philanthropy information. It highlights 282,720 worldwide employees, $155.09 million in philanthropic giving, 8.5 million volunteer hours and 970 alternative-fuel vehicles. AT&T reports 1,170,232 metric tons of Scope 1 emissions, 7,745,546 metric tons of Scope 2 emissions and 57,706 metric tons of business-travel Scope 3 emissions. The company aligned the report with GRI G3 Guidelines at self-declared application level C and used a materiality analysis to guide priorities.
