The report presents Balfour Beatty's 2017 transformation and sustainable-business agenda. Group statutory revenue was GBP 6,916m, year-end employees were 20,238, and energy consumption was 855,167 MWh. Scope 1 and location-based Scope 2 emissions totaled 244,238 tonnes of CO2e, down from 299,498 in 2016, while three subcontractors died on Group projects. The Safety and Sustainability Committee reviewed sustainability matters at Board level, and KPMG provided limited assurance over the marked GHG data.
