Sustainability Strategy

The report introduces Balfour Beatty's 2024 Sustainability Strategy, organised around six focus areas spanning climate, nature, resources, supply chains, communities and employee inclusion. It reports 2023 emissions of 108,861 tCO2e (Scope 1), 12,638 tCO2e (Scope 2) and 3,970,258 tCO2e (Scope 3), alongside a pathway to net zero across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2050. Governance disclosures assign review to the Group Safety and Sustainability Committee and state that PwC LLP provides independent limited assurance over social value and Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
