Overview

The report presents Ball's 2017 sustainability performance across its global operations, including 4,601 thousand MWh of energy consumption, 9,794 thousand m3 of water consumption and 73 thousand tons of waste generation. It reports 1.4 million metric tons of Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions and 13.2 million metric tons of Scope 3 emissions, while setting a 27 percent absolute Scope 1 and 2 reduction target by 2030 against a 2017 baseline. The report also describes progress in recycling, renewable-energy projects and water-efficiency initiatives. Sustainability performance is overseen by the board's Nominating/Corporate Governance Committee.
