Overview

The report presents Baosteel's 2021 sustainability performance across climate, environmental management, employees, supply-chain responsibility, and community investment. It reports 2021 Baosteel GHG emissions of 9,080.5 10,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent for Categories 1 and 2 and sets a 30% carbon-reduction goal for 2035 plus carbon neutrality by 2050. The workforce total was 45,405 employees, with 100% training coverage and no work-related fatalities among employees, while two contractor fatalities were reported. SGS independently assured the report and concluded that it was prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards core option.
