Sustainability Report

The report covers BD's FY2011 global social and environmental performance and highlights its shared-value approach, sustainability governance, and GRI reporting. Environmental results include 25% renewable energy use, 4,756,584 gigajoules of energy consumption, 1,243,950 million gallons of water consumption, and 422,965 metric tons CO2-e of combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. BD also reports progress against 2015 targets, ISO 14001-certified sites, workforce safety programs, and extensive global health and community partnerships. The report states that BD does not currently seek external assurance for sustainability reporting.
