Environmental, Social and Governance Report

The report covers BD's FY 2021 ESG performance, highlighting a 14 percent reduction in energy consumption, a 23 percent reduction in water consumption and 79 percent diversion of nonhazardous waste from landfill. It reports Scope 1 and market-based Scope 2 emissions and sets a 46% absolute reduction target for those scopes by 2030. BD also established Scope 3 baselines for categories 1, 4 and 9 and reported 75,402 associates at year-end.
