The report presents Biffa's 2019 performance as a year of strong statutory revenue and profitability, with statutory revenue of £1,091.2m and around 7,900 employees. The company describes its sustainability role through waste recovery, renewable-energy generation and a partnership with WasteAid. It reports 441 GWh of energy generated and total Scope 1 and 2 emissions of 755 ktns of CO2e, alongside a 90% UK reprocessing rate for materials leaving its recycling facilities. The report also highlights continued investment in plastics recycling and electric collection vehicles.
