Sustainability Report

The report describes Cerrejón's 2007 sustainability performance across its integrated coal operation and La Guajira communities. It reports 8,656 direct and indirect workers, two contractor fatalities, 223,48 GWh of energy consumption, 6,554 tons of waste, and 843 kilotons of greenhouse-effect gas emissions. Social investment reached 10,000 million pesos, while environmental investment totaled 43,007 million Colombian pesos. The report also highlights land rehabilitation, biodiversity management, human-rights training, community foundations, and its annual Global Compact progress report.
