Sustainability Report

The report describes Cerrejón's 2016 sustainability performance across water, land restoration, safety and community engagement. It captured 13,528,558 m3 of water while reducing total capture by 25% compared with 2015, and reclaimed 113.7 hectares during the year as part of 3,674 hectares reclaimed since 1990. The company reported no operational fatalities in 2016 and continued initiatives to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, improve air-quality controls and expand water-access solutions for neighbouring communities.
