Overview

The report provides a GRI Core, group-wide account of ZEISS's 2020/21 sustainability performance. It reports 14% relative waste reduction and 17% relative water reduction against the 2018/19 reference year, alongside a goal of carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 by 2025. Renewable energy reached some 98% of calculated energy consumption, and Scope 3 emissions were assessed for the first time using upstream value-chain categories. The report also records 35,375 employees and no fatal work-related accidents.
