Corporate Social Responsibility Report

The report presents China Mobile's 2008 CSR strategy and five major programs covering rural development, disaster relief, culture, environmental protection and employee volunteering. The company reports 138,368 employees at year-end and describes a group-wide Green Action Plan, including a target to reduce power consumption per telecommunication traffic unit by 40% by 2010 from 2005 levels. It also reports the establishment of an Employee Volunteers Association and 103,313 recorded volunteering instances from January to September 2008.
