The report covers CSEC's 2008 economic, environmental and social activities across coal mining, railway, port and power operations. It reports 59,543 employees and a zero fatality rate per million tonnes of raw coal, while recording RMB 107,133 million in revenues. Environmental initiatives included approximately RMB1.95 billion of environmental-protection investment and RMB1.39 billion in energy-conservation and emission-reduction projects. The company also reports more than RMB297 million in community donations.
