Overview

The report presents Chiquita's sustainability approach as embedded across farm, workforce and community operations. In 2016, farm rejuvenation reached 39% of company-owned farmland, organic bananas rose to 5.8% of total volume, and container upgrades delivered 34 million kilowatt hours of electricity savings. Workforce initiatives included 54'099 total training records and 4'168 scholarships or school packages. Community and environmental highlights included 15 supported schools, the Nogal biodiversity reserve, and $ 200'000 donated to cancer foundations.
