Overview

The report describes Cambridge's 2004 climate-protection activities and its updated 2003 community emissions inventory. Emissions reached 1,482,218.40 tons CO2 in 2003, up 27.2% from 1990, while the City pursued a 20% reduction below 1990 levels by 2010. Municipal actions included B20 biodiesel, LED traffic-signal upgrades, solar PV and renewable-energy certificates; the FY04 recycling program diverted 13,112 tons, equal to a 33% recycling rate.
