Overview

The report covers CRH's 2008 activities using data from 100% of Group subsidiaries. It highlights 30.5 TWh of total Group energy use, 13m tonnes of direct CO2 emissions, 1.7m tonnes of waste generated and 8 fatalities in subsidiaries. CRH reports a 15% specific cement CO2 reduction target by 2015 against 1990, and DNV verified the report in its entirety. The report also includes GRI G3 A+ reporting and extensive environmental, health and safety, and social performance data.
