Annual Report

The report describes Lufthansa Group’s 2009 sustainability performance: CO2 emissions intensity improved by 0.9% to 108.4 g/pkm, while transport-related CO2 emissions totaled 24.2 million tonnes, up 0.1% largely due to consolidation. Lufthansa maintained its target to reduce CO2 emissions per passenger-kilometre by 25% by 2020 against 2006. The report assigns ultimate responsibility for sustainable business to the Executive Board and notes the company’s renewed inclusion in sustainability indices.
