Sustainability Report

The report says the company reduced GHG-emissions intensity from electrolysis operations by 11.6% from the 2014 baseline and lowered energy consumption by 1.8% in 2021, to 326.4 million GJ. Hydropower provided 98.77% of electricity used at Metals-segment aluminium smelters. The company set a goal to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by at least 35% by 2030 against a 2018 baseline and a net-zero ambition for 2050, while reporting progress on modernization, workplace safety and community programmes.
