Overview

The report describes a difficult safety year, including two fatal accidents, while outlining Statoil's sharpened strategy as a low-carbon energy company. It sets a climate roadmap including 3 million tonnes of annual CO2 reductions by 2030 and reports 15.4 million tonnes of Scope 1 emissions in 2016. Renewable activities delivered 423 GWh of energy, supported by offshore wind and carbon capture, usage and storage investments.
