Annual Report

The report highlights Fortum's acquisition of the remaining 50% of Birka Energi as a major strategic step that would strengthen its Nordic power and heat position. It reports construction of a Jyväskylä biostation to raise biofuel use and investment in a liquefied wood-fuel pilot plant. The report also says carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide emissions increased, attributing the rise partly to higher production from fossil fuels.
