Sustainability Report

The report presents Fortum's 2012 sustainability performance through 68% CO2-free electricity production, 10,371 employees at year-end and 95% of sales from ISO 14001-certified operations. It reports total greenhouse gas emissions of 26.0 MtCO2eq and highlights a reduction in emissions compared with 2011. Occupational safety improved for Fortum personnel, although the year included one contractor fatality. The report also describes continued investment in hydropower, combined heat and power, renewable fuels and smarter electricity distribution.
