Overview

The report presents Freeport-McMoRan's 2023 sustainability performance across responsible copper production, governance, workforce, communities and environmental stewardship. Highlights include one contractor workplace fatality, 41.7% women on the Board, 27,162 employees, and continued progress against site and business-unit climate targets. FCX reported 5,139,523 mt CO2e of Scope 1 emissions, 2,831,755 mt CO2e of location-based Scope 2 emissions, 6,428,197 mt CO2e of Scope 3 emissions, and 16.2% renewable energy. Ernst & Young provided limited assurance over selected disclosures and Scope 3, and reasonable assurance over Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
