Sustainability in Action

The report describes Gas Networks Ireland's 2020 sustainability strategy across Environment, Social and Economic pillars, anchored by six SDGs. It reports a 22% absolute GHG emissions reduction since 2010 and a 47% improvement against the public-sector energy-efficiency target. The company reports first-time CDP participation with a B- rating, alongside 46.78 tonnes of waste generated and 20,121,000 litres of water used. It also describes an ambition for a net-zero carbon gas network by 2050.
