Sustainable Development Report

The report reviews Gem Diamonds' 2017 sustainability performance, highlighting zero fatalities, one lost-time injury and zero major or significant stakeholder and environmental incidents. It describes the Group's material matters across financial and operational, governance and ethics, employees, social and environmental pillars. The Group reports a total carbon footprint of 155 106tCO2e, down 16% from 2016, and total energy consumption of 1 140 784 gigajoules (GJ). It also highlights community investment of US$0.5 million and continued waste, water and mine-closure management.
