Sustainability Report

The report presents Glencore's 2011 sustainability performance across its global operations, with health and safety remaining the central priority and 18 employee and contractor fatalities reported. The Group directly employed 59,145 people at year-end. Environmental disclosures include 164 PetaJoules of total energy use, 500 million m3 of water withdrawal and 12 034 thousand tons of combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions. Deloitte LLP provided limited assurance over selected environmental, safety, social and economic indicators.
