Our Commitment to Responsible Mining

The report describes Gold Fields' 2024 responsible-mining performance across safety, workforce, community value creation and environmental stewardship. It reports two operational fatalities, a total workforce of 22,890, and 35% of national value distribution retained by host communities. Environmental disclosures include 1,632kt CO2e of combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions, 823kt CO2e of Scope 3 emissions, 14.4PJ of energy consumption and 14.5GL of water consumption. The company also states a net-zero carbon commitment for 2050 and reports 18% renewable electricity.
