Overview

The report describes a challenging 2009 in which Grupo México consolidated ASARCO and recorded consolidated sales of US$4.827 billion. It reports US$624 million invested in mining projects and US$63.5 million invested in Environmental Actions and Community Responsibility. Environmental initiatives included wastewater treatment, water reuse, pollution-prevention infrastructure, and ISO 14000 certification across almost all operating units.
