Balanced Logistics

The report presents HHLA's 2021 sustainability performance through its Balanced Logistics strategy, including a Group-wide climate-neutral aim for 2040 and a goal to halve carbon emissions by 2030 from 2018 levels. It reports 6,444 employees, 95,791 cubic meters of water consumption, 71,522 tonnes of carbon emissions avoided through renewable energy, and a 26.1% waste reduction. Operational initiatives include renewable-electricity rail transport, hydrogen logistics development, digital invoicing and a vaccination campaign that reached about 1,500 employees.
