Sustainable Development Report

Overview

The report presents Harmony's FY11 sustainability performance across South Africa and PNG. It reports 41 656 people employed including contractors, 16 employee fatalities, and a group-level environmental strategy with ISO 14001 certification at two operations. South African Scope 1 and 2 emissions were 3 570 469 tonnes CO2e, while South African water used for primary activities was 36 074 000m3. The report also describes continued environmental management, community programmes and workforce development.
