Overview

The report describes HEP's 2008 environmental monitoring and pollution-control activities, including reported thermal-power-plant emissions and waste tracking. HEP's plants generated 1,243 tons of hazardous and 107,623 tons of non-hazardous waste, while total nature and environmental protection expenses were 144.05 million kuna. Operational achievements included the introduction of ISO 14001:2004 in the Zagreb Transmission Area and improvements to waste-water, waste-storage, and emissions-monitoring systems.
