Business Responsibility Report

Overview

The report is HCL's first Business Responsibility Report prepared under SEBI-mandated guidelines and covers FY2012-13. It reports 4,498 employees, including 270 permanent women employees, and describes broad employee welfare, stakeholder, human-rights and CSR initiatives. Environmental disclosures highlight energy-efficiency measures, water conservation and 925,652 tree plantations with a 70% survival rate, while noting that a GHG mapping and mitigation process was not yet in place.
