Overview

The report covers Towngas' 2007 sustainability performance across environmental, safety and social activities. It highlights commissioning the NENT landfill gas utilisation project and saving 7,679,426 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 5,376 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Safety performance improved, with the Injury Industrial Accident Frequency Rate at 0.32 and 16 industrial accident injuries. Community programmes involved 6,829 volunteers contributing 38,935 service hours and benefiting 33,660 people.
