Overview

The report describes Howdens' 2020 ESG strategic review, which identified four commitments: zero waste to landfill, carbon neutral manufacturing, behavioural safety and wellbeing, and stronger ESG reporting and disclosure. It reports 100% of production and warehouse waste reused, recovered or recycled, 100% FSC or PEFC-certified chipboard and MDF, and 40,000 MWh of energy generated from biomass boilers. Gross Scope 1 and 2 emissions were 50,373 tonnes, while net emissions after Green Gas credits were 41,205 tonnes.
