Overview

The report presents REFER's sixth Sustainability Report as an integral part of the Annual Report and reviews economic, social and environmental performance in 2009. It records 3,497 employees at December 2009 and highlights substantial training, personnel development and social benefits. Environmental disclosures include 28,000 tons of electricity-related CO2 emissions, 235,000 m3 of public-supply water consumption, and energy consumption of approximately 18,000 units. The report also describes biodiversity initiatives, environmental monitoring, waste valorisation and level-crossing safety actions.
