The report says Interfor had independent third-party certification across 100 per cent of its woodlands operations and maintained two SFI forest-management certifications. In 2011, the company planted 7.8 million trees. Its Adams Lake biomass energy system was associated with an annual reduction of 16,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, and the company says it verified the carbon savings and received an offset credit from the Pacific Carbon Trust.
