Sustainability Update

The report describes Sainsbury's 2021/22 progress under its new Plan for Better, including the acceleration of its own-operations net-zero target to 2035 and a 20% reduction in operational GHG emissions from the 2018/19 baseline. It reports 100% renewable electricity across the estate from January 2022, a 119% year-on-year increase in food redistribution, and 2,567,803 meals donated through Neighbourly. The update also highlights a refreshed materiality assessment, expanded Tier 1 food-site transparency and £38.4 million raised for good causes.
