Overview

The report describes KBC's 2011 group-wide climate change policy and its efforts to reduce environmental impacts. In the Belgian business unit, greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 44% over the stated five-year period, while electricity from green sources reached 100%. The report also covers employee, community and responsible-investment initiatives, including 30,397 green loans granted in 2011. KBC's sustainability reporting was checked by GRI and found to fulfill Application Level B.
