Annual Report (Sustainability selection)

The report describes Philips' 2017 transformation into a focused health technology company, reporting EUR 17.8 billion in sales and 73,951 employees at year-end. Its sustainability program focused on Circular Economy, Access to Care and Climate Action, with 2.2 billion lives improved and a gross operational carbon footprint of 847 kilotonnes CO2e before offsets. Philips followed the GRI Standards Comprehensive option and the IIRC Integrated Reporting framework, and its sustainability information received reasonable assurance from EY. The company also reported a carbon-neutral operations ambition for 2020 and a commitment to improve the lives of 300 million people in underserved healthcare communities by 2025.
