Sustainable Development Report

Overview

The report describes Kumba's 2012 sustainability performance across safety, employment, community development and environmental management. It reports two work-related fatalities, 11,773 people employed, and R275.6 million in community engagement and development expenditure. Environmental disclosures include 943,576 tonnes of total CO2e emissions and 7.59 million GJ of total energy consumption. The report also documents extensive GRI-based reporting and independent assurance by Pricewaterhouse Coopers Inc.
