Environmental Sustainability Report

Overview

The report covers LSE's 2013-14 sustainability performance across governance, campus operations, teaching and research, and community engagement. It reports 40,323 MWh of energy consumption, 201,805 m3 of water consumption and 1,787 tonnes of waste, while stating that zero waste went to landfill. It highlights ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 environmental management certification, solar PV and CHP generation, and measures to improve recycling and resource efficiency. It also describes sustainability opportunities in 223 taught modules and numerous staff, student and public engagement initiatives.
